Cartoon Saloon, established in 1999 by Paul Young, Tomm Moore, and Nora Twomey, is a world renowned animation studio with five Academy Award® and two Golden Globe® nominations and many award wins including BAFTA® and Emmy®. Located in Kilkenny, Ireland, the studio produces brave and beautiful shorts, feature films, and TV series. Cartoon Saloon is the founder and host of Kilkenny Animated, an annual festival of visual storytelling incorporating exhibitions, talks and performances celebrating the creativity of the animation craft.


In 2024, Cartoon Saloon will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with exciting events planned throughout the year to mark this special occasion.

Position

We are looking for a Line Producer to come and work with us on our current 2D animated Feature Film.

This is an inhouse position based in Kilkenny, Ireland.

As a Line Producer, you will work closely with the Producers, Head of Production, Director, Co-Production studios and Production Managers to oversee day-to-day operations of the production; managing schedule, crew and processes.

You will work with the Director and Heads of Departments in Cartoon Saloon and across all partner studios to facilitate the creative needs of the project. You will also update the producer on status and crew performance while ensuring the project remains on schedule and on budget.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the production
  • Work with the Producers, Production Managers and Department Supervisors to establish efficient pipeline and production processes
  • Supervise the Production Managers and oversee the department production schedules, quotas and staffing needs
  • Track and manage the budget allocated for the project and monitor status of departments in comparison to schedule
  • Oversee Production Managers and ensure the good organisation of dailies, reviews and meetings and the taking of notes and follow up of information
  • Manage all communication with production partners
  • Work closely with the Director, Art Director, Technical Director and Department Supervisors to communicate priorities throughout the production
  • Submit weekly reports to Cartoon Saloon Managing Director, Producers and Head of Production
  • Attend weekly studio meetings and any production and producer meetings when required
  • Anticipate and communicate issues to the Producers, Head of Production and Studio COO in order to resolve problems quickly
  • Find production solutions if creative changes need to be made
  • Work with the COO to create and implement a Skills Development plan for the purpose of Section 481 requirements and ensuring the development of new & existing crew
  • Oversee any recruitment of talent as well as helping to keep the team motivated.
  • Provide leadership and promote a friendly and efficient work environment
  • Manage final deliveries

Requirements

  • Must have minimum 2 years experience as a line producer on a TV series or Feature animation production
  • Experience with some production tracking software and asset management software, preferably Shotgun
  • Experience and knowledge with 2D digital animation pipelines and workflow
  • Experience managing production budgets
  • Good knowledge of Google pack (Sheet, Doc) and Microsoft Office pack (Excel, Word) needed
  • Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills; able to clearly communicate vision, priorities and timelines
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to influence and coach others through effective leadership
