The Job Details:

We are looking for a Layout Supervisor for our new TV Series

In close dialogue with the Art Director and Director, establish and execute the distinctive visual style of the Layout images for the series and subsequently maintaining a cohesive look and technically correct execution of Layout across the Production;

As a Layout Supervisor you will be responsible for:

• Direct, inspire and manage all crew assigned to Layout; Please note that your role demands communicating the necessary retakes to your team as well as providing solutions to help them accomplish their tasks; only in very special circumstances you should be fixing their work.

• Clearly and consistently communicate the ‘vision’ for the series to the rest of the layout team;

• Establish strong communication channels with all other departments to ensure elements are used correctly and any problems are solved promptly;

• Produce high quality layouts as required;

• Review work produced by the Layout team and provide clear written and/or visual feedback to the crew to ensure that the creative and technical requirements for the series is maintained;

• Work cohesively within a team environment ensuring high levels of communication at all times;

• Work closely with the Director, Art Director, Production Manager and Coordinator to deliver episodic layout breakdown lists as required by Production;

• Attend departmental kick-off meetings, reviews and director approvals as needed

• Deliver technically clearly named and well layered files to the scene prep and background departments following established protocols;

• Ensure the Layout department keeps to schedule, flagging issues or potential delays as soon as they’re known;

• Attend regular meetings with the Producer and HOD to report on department and crew progress;

• Maintain strong communication with the Production Crew, flagging in advance any issues that may impact on successful timely delivery of material or shots;

• Able to work in-house in Kilkenny, Ireland.

What we would like to see from you:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a Layout Supervisor role in the area of television or feature animation (2D animation);

• Strong drawing and vectoring skills;

• Strong composition skills;

• Proven ability to problem solve schedule within time and practicality constraints;

• Excellent experience and understanding of Photoshop;

• Excellent time management skills;

• Ability to consistently meet deadlines;

• Ability to lead a team of artists and mentor junior crew;

• Excellent communication skills and willingness to share information in a team environment;

• Flexibility and ability to be responsive to change;

• Feature film experience would be a plus

• Passion for visuals that enhance narrative and storytelling.
