Project Engineers - Coastal / Marine Engineer

Requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects (Master's degree preferred).
  • Chartered status or in the process to obtain an equivalent professional qualification.
  • A Marine Engineer with structural engineering capabilities and Project Management experience;
  • Knowledge of waterfront structures and marine infrastructure projects, including retaining walls, breakwaters, groynes, marina and port design, vessel mooring and berthing structures, dredging, reclamation and shore protection structures.
  • A basic understanding of artificial beach design is of benefit.
  • Analysis, design, and detailing for concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience with Hydraulic Modelling (MIKE21, LITPACK etc) for coastal processes a benefit.
  • Assists with preparing cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.
  • Supports preparation of final plans and reports and submits them for approval. Supports the writing of proposals.
  • Oversight engineering marine investigations and planning work.
  • Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside their own discipline, and with support services staff.
  • Experience in using drafting tools including AutoCAD/ REVIT/ ProgeCAD;
  • Sound commercial abilities: the candidate will be required to estimate fees for consultancy works and have the ability to work within budget and programme.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor/lead junior staff.
  • Knowledgeable of codes and standards applicable to his own area of expertise and ability to undertake independent research when required.
  • 4 to 8 years’ consultancy experience of interest.
