Data Engineer, remote


  • Up to £75k + potential 10% bonus
  • Monday to Friday, flexible working

We have a newly created opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our growing Technology team. The Data Engineer will be building pipelines to integrate our various applications as well as a new platform for reporting. This will form the foundation for delivering data insights to us and our customers, meaning many exciting challenges requiring creative solutions from engineers showing curiosity and innovation. You will get to work with a close-knit team using the latest technology and have opportunities to learn to continue your professional development.


The Data Engineer will be accountable for the following:


  • Engineering data ingestion processes for Bloom’s Marketplace platform
  • Engineering data transformation processes to support reporting, e.g. writing data extract queries, transformation jobs, output construction
  • Investigation/resolution of data issues
  • Accessing external data sources

Requirements

If you’re interested in applying for the role of Data Engineer, we are looking for you to demonstrate experience with the following technologies:

  • Python
  • Spark
  • SQL
  • RDBMSs e.g. Postgres, MySQL

Desirable (in order of priority):

  • AWS data components e.g. Glue, Athena
  • Jupyter
  • Data warehousing
  • Java
  • Data access through REST APIs
