Here at BJF, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our exciting and expanding construction biased business, where YOU can help support Group Operations as a Fleet Asset Manager.

Working with a large portfolio of public and private sector clients, our UK based organisation comprises of several divisions including Mechanical & Electrical, Construction, Projects, Reactive, FM, Small Works and other associated trades.

Position

Reporting to the Operations Director and working closely with the Head of SHEQ, this newly created position hold responsibility for all fleet related activities within BJF Group. You will ensure lease and purchase terms are commercially viable whilst accessing the most preferential rates, be organised, efficient with both strong negotiation and communication skills.

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing a fleet of cars and vans owned, leased and rented by BJF Group. You will enjoy a varied, fast paced and changing environment in a growing organisation, shaping new policies and processes to maintain profitable, safe and compliant operations whilst delivering effective reporting and data analysis.


Your responsibilities:

·Assist in the development of a fleet asset procurement strategy and policy for the group in respect of purchasing/ renting/ leasing cars and vans. Sourcing vehicles in accordance with the policy.

·Ensuring high service levels are maintained across the business and running the department in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

·Maintaining the fleet budget and ensuring best value is maintained with a focus on improving cost efficiency

·Ensuring that the fleet is operating in accordance with legislation and regulations.

·Ensuring all driver queries are dealt with quickly and effectively.

·Ensure trackers are fitted to all vehicles across the fleet and monitor fleet utilisation using telematic data providing effective and useful reporting to the regional management team.

·Manage interface with our insurance provider. Ensuring claims are managed effectively and losses are minimised.

·Managing vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimise downtime.

·Support on vehicle and company asset inventory and management processes and systems.

·Understand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout.

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

·Experience and knowledge of working in a fleet management role or a fleet coordinator role looking to take the next step in your career.

·Evidence of commercial and financial awareness, basic financial literacy to understand financial sheets and manage a fleet budget

·Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively

·Proven Project management skills

·Well-developed analytical skills to effectively analyse fleet data and draw accurate conclusions

·Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

·Proven ability to negotiate to achieve best value

·Knowledge of relevant environmental and safety laws and regulations

·Be financially astute

·Excellent organisational skills to cope with a fast-changing environment and multiple concurrent tasks.

·Good leadership skills to motivate, guide and inspire our teams to drive safely and compliantly
