Position

Position Mission & Overall Objectives

  • Main responsibilities to drive customers in an open-top double-decker bus on our designated sightseeing routes. To prioritize safety and maintain a high standard of driving and to ensure that the companies schedules and routes are adhered.

Key areas of Responsibility:

Safety

  • Maintain the safety of the bus and passengers at all times during the tour
  • Follow all state and Federal traffic and DOT laws rules/regulations
  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately as per company policy

Service

  • Greet customers with a smile and kind approach at all times.
  • Stop at every bus stop on the route (regardless of whether or not passengers are present)
  • Be able to work closely in a team with tour daily guide 

Preparing the Bus

  • Ensure pre-trip/  post-trip duties are carried out in accordance with company policy
  • Check the bus documents ( found inside of bus binder)
  • Check if buses are clean

Driving Accuracy

  • Driving company’s sightseeing buses, operating language system
  • Ensure audio commentary is played properly and have a clear understanding of all the commentaries and fillers
  • Traffic law should be followed all the time
  • Being aware of the height and width of the vehicles
  • Being aware of the whereabouts of the low bridges which might endanger passengers’ or the buses’ body and avoiding low-hanging branches
  • Reporting to the starting point on time ready for the scheduled route times
  • Ensure you are driving safely in accordance with the Green Road System
  • Ensure that you are covering all points/sights as per the timetable and map
  • To report all safety, security, driving and customer service incidents to your Line Manager as soon as possible and fill in the relevant forms
  • To report all incidents on the road, likely to affect bus services, Inform dispatcher as soon as possible. Examples would be road closures, accidents, emergencies and high way repairs
  • Assist customers in case of unforeseen incidents like accidents, bus breakdowns.
  • Stop the bus in proper parking area and inform your dispatcher/ operations manager in case of breakdown

Presentation

  • Ensure you wear neat and clean uniform at all times

Requirements

Basic Requirements: Experience / Skills / Qualifications required:

  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s License with ‘P’ endorsement.
  • DOT Medical card with a National Register number on it, signed by and MRO and stamped by the MRO Office (Medical Review Officer)
  • Must be able to work in US and be able to show proof
  • Must have CDL for a minimum of 2 years
  • Must have the ability to lift bags that can weight 50lbs  – 70lbs
