Big Bus Tours is an industry leading international open-top sightseeing operation. Our central US Finance team, based in New York, is responsible for the finances of all 7 of our US city operations and is an exciting, dynamic environment in which to work. We are looking to add an enthusiastic Staff Accountant to our team as we continue to grow post Covid.

Poste

The staff accountant will be responsible for all aspects of the Los Angeles financial operation, including the month end accounting and balance sheet. They will work closely with the local General Manager to provide advice and guidance and will report results directly to the Group Head of Reporting and CFO on a monthly basis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all entries associated with month end close including aspects of revenue not handled by the AR team, prepayments, accruals, and other entries.
  • Participate in tasks during the month to support the region such as approving local cashiering, cash/credit card reconciliations.
  • Financial reporting for our new partnership with TMZ
  • Reconcile balance sheet on a monthly basis.
  • Liaise with AP and AR to ensure transactional postings are up to date and review aging reports.
  • Assist in various other accounting related projects, as assigned.
  • Assist in the year-end audit, as needed.
  • Provide support to local operational team where required.

Profil

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Good understanding of travel/tourism industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience of SAP By Design is preferred
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams at the same time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems independently
  • 2 years’ experience in a staff accountant role is necessary
  • Educated to Bachelors Degree (BA) level or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Communication – Ability to express ideas or facts in a clear and persuasive manner
  • Analytical – Effectiveness in identifying problems, seeking pertinent data, recognising important information and identifying possible causes of problems
  • Resilience – Able to maintain effectiveness in difficult situations
  • Confidential - Able to manage data confidentially
