Position

Overall Objectives:

Maintain fleet conform to Company standards ensuring preventive maintenance and repairs are done as needed.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections as per Company standards.
  • Perform repairs as per Company standards.
  • Maintain work orders accurately and on time.
  • Fill out DVIR books accurately and on time.
  • Fill out inspection sheets accurately and on time.
  • Maintain work area clean.
  • Ensure that buses are repaired and maintained clean and presentable to the highest standards.
  • Able to follow instructions and read wiring diagrams.
  • Able to work with limited supervision at times.
  • Work well with others in a team environment, including drivers and other Company personnel.
  • Able to drive Service Truck for occasional Road Calls.
  • Work safely including wearing steels to boots, safety glasses and being conscious of the safety of others around.
  • Make sure that all work is done properly to ensure minimum duplicate repair.
  • Repair and have a working knowledge of air brake systems
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis.

Requirements

Experience / Skills / Qualifications required:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Diesel/Heavy truck or bus mechanic
  • ASE certifications is a plus
  • Must have own tools
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate day, night & weekend shifts
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent listening and oral communication skills
  • Able to obtain a TWIC card and CDL B with P endorsement within 3 months of hire date
