Overall Purpose

  • Working with the largest fleet of Sightseeing buses an exciting role for PSV Mechanics has become available on a permanent position. You will be primarily be based at the depot in the workshop at Wimbledon but will also be expected to attend roadside calls to fault diagnose in Central London. Your responsibilities will include service inspections, MOT prep, roadside repair and various other projects from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive and preventative maintenance and carry our repairs to high standards
  • Be able to fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly
  • Working within the company polices on safe systems of work and ensuring that quality and performance are maintained at all times
  • Completing job cards and inspection service sheets in a timely manner
  • Undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriate
  • Attend road calls

Profil

Knowledge

  • Applicants should be suitably qualified and have experience in heavy commercial vehicle or PSV maintenance, repair and diagnostic,
  • Candidates will require a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3
  • Have practical understanding of using information technology to fault diagnose with drivers
  • A great knowledge of engines and a range of vehicles
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness and has a good understanding and experience of a busy workshop operating environment

Skills / Competencies

  • As a successful candidate, you will have experience as a PCV or HGV fitter/technician/mechanic and be able to evidence a NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Desirable but not essential - PCV licence
