Position

Overall Purpose

Own partner relationships in assigned local market to ensure increase in sale of Big Bus tickets through local distribution partners (any business retailing Big Bus tickets to their customers). The City Sales Manager is tasked with maximising the profit and volume of the agent sales channel (hotels, concierges, kiosks, and shops) and local trade channel through effective account management, relationship-building and development of new business.

The role encompasses planning, prospecting and account management, leveraging best practices to ensure that we maximize all local sales channels.

Together with local team, the individual will focus on achieving and exceeding the budgeted targets on revenue, ATP, net profitability, passenger volume, and customer satisfaction.

The individual will work closely with the local operations team as well as global sales, marketing and product teams.

Key Areas of Accountability and Responsibility

Account management

  • Keeping and building long lasting partnerships with agents and local sales partners.
  • Acquisition of new business partners in order to enhance sales and profitability.
  • Reporting to General Manager any issues experienced by our partners.
  • Actively attending relevant (Concierge and trade) sales events, representing Big Bus.

Sales Plan

  • Assisting Manager on the development of short and long term sales plans.
  • Ensuring sales objectives are met according to volume of sales required.
  • Assisting in the creation of sales programs to be delivered to partners.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize sales through all B2B channels for local market.

Administration

  • Ensuring charging and debits are in control.
  • Keeing agent’s portfolio data base up to date.
  • Keeping daily visit reports up to date.

Team

  • Ability to lead informal and formal meetings with sales partners.
  • Embodying the company culture and maintaining a high level of engagement with our partners.

Requirements

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of sales business environment and account management.
  • Knowledge of the local hotel market and local tourism businesses.
  • Language: German (fluent) with solid English is required. Knowledge of other languages may be helpful.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years proven experience in a sales function, ideally within the travel industry.
  • Existing network within the Berlin local tourism industry.
  • Experience in account management and delivering support to business partners.
  • Focus on problem solving based on customers’ and business needs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple business account and projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Drivers licence.

Working Hours and Conditions

40 hours per week

Core working hours are 9.00am to 6.00pm, Monday through Friday and such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of duties.
