Position

Overall Purpose:

The mission of the Baggage Truck Operator is to operate the baggage truck and load cruise passengers luggage on and off as required.  Ensuring the safety and proper handling of all baggage.  To prioritize safety and maintain a high standard of driving at all times.  In addition the Baggage Truck Operator will assist passengers with their luggage and give amazing customer service at all times.   • For many of our customers, this is their first time exploring the city and they may have many questions, we want our Baggage Truck Operators to provide excellent service answering questions, whether it be about our tours, attractions we offer, maybe even directions to eateries and famous icons.
  • We turn tourists into explorers and our Baggage Truck Operators are in some cases the first part of the Big Bus Story for our customers.  First impressions are important so we expect our team to be properly groomed and look professional.

Key Areas of Accountability and Responsibility

  • Promote the core values of the Big Bus Tour Brand, and act, keeping Quality, Honesty, Integrity, Passion, Loyalty, Competitiveness, Team Spirit and Customer focus in mind at all times.
  • Report to work on time, in appropriate uniform, neat and clean with good personal hygiene, representing the brand appropriately and with pride.
  • Maintain the safety of the truck and passengers baggage at all times.
  • Follow all state and Federal traffic and DOT laws rules/regulations
  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately as per company policy
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Provide our customers with kind and genuine approach to customer service at all times and always with a smile.
  • Provide information on directions, advisement on attractions and eateries or general information.
  • Load all baggage on and off the truck as required.
  • Assist passengers with their baggage and minimize losses by ensuring that all baggage is properly handled and tagged.
  • Be able to work closely as a team with Leads and Port CSR’s. 
  • Alert Manager or Leads of any mechanical or equipment issues and all safety, security, driving and customer service incidents in a timely manner and ensure that all required forms are completed.
  • Protect company assets such as issued Company property, branded brochures, luggage tags and any other materials ensuring they are well maintained.
  • Report any witnessed infractions of company policy to supervisors with urgency.
  • Monitor and maintain an environment where customer and team member safety is a concern at all times.
  • Ensure that pre/post trip duties are carried out in accordance with company policy.
  • Check all truck documents located in the truck binder.
  • Ensure that the truck is kept clean at all times.
  • Always maintain driving accuracy by obeying all traffic laws and being aware of the height and width of the vehicle.
  • To carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested.

Requirements

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of Miami area

    Skills:

    • Effective communication
    • Must be able to interact with and speak to customers

    Experience/Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Fluency in English
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States
    • CDL License is required
    • DOT Medical card with a National Register number on it, signed by and MRO and stamped by the MRO Office (Medical Review Officer)

    Working Hours and Conditions

    This is a seasonal, full time position 

    Work hours are from 6:30am – 5:30pm

    Physical Requirements
