Position

Overall Purpose

We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the European Finance team in an AP/AR Manager role.  
 
As part of the accounts team, the purpose of this role is to oversee the delivery of a consistent and accurate transactional accounting service whilst ensuring that the team is managed and developed.  

Key Areas of Accountability and Responsibility

Accounts Payable and Credit Control 

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes, including payment runs, invoice processing and issuance, reviews, invoice approvals, answering supplier queries, customer payments etc.
  • Ensure that our bank reconciliations and appropriate balance sheet reconciliations including liaising with our bank account providers to resolve any queries
  • Where required, assist the company with changing and/ or automating processes, allowing individuals to focus on the parts of the role where your knowledge and skills provide the most value
  • Create, maintain and develop finance operational policies, procedures, and control.
  • Ensure that the team regularly receives & reconciles vendor statements, investigate & resolve discrepancies
  • Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
  • Motivate, train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development, and knowledge. 

Requirements

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the accounts payable and credit control processes
  • Good understanding of travel/tourism industry is preferred  

Skills

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience of SAP and Concur Invoicing is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Time management.  
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams at the same time while paying strict attention to detail 

Experience/Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of previous experience in a transactional finance (AP/AR) function is necessary
  • Previous managerial/ leadership experience is expected
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field is preferred
  • Strong ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) results
