Position

Overall Purpose

We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the European Finance team in an Accounts Payable role.

To be considered for this role you should have at least 2 years of experience in a fast paced Accounts Payable environment. You should have a demonstrable record of processing high volumes of invoices and working to deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a positive outlook and exceptional communication skills. Reporting to the Transactional Manager, you will be responsible for end to end accounts payable processing. This is a high volume and complex role requiring excellent problem solving and investigation skills.

Key Areas of Accountability and Responsibility

  • Record and Process multi-currency invoices / credit notes from suppliers across Europe
  • Weekly payment runs for open AP items via online banking, adhering to approval processes and authorisation limits
  • Involvement in the month end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal bookings and queries
  • Expense processing using Concur, ensuring all business expenses are authorised and paid on a timely basis
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve queries on a daily basis
  • Attending weekly AP calls and/or meetings and provide reports when necessary
  • Set up and maintain supplier records
  • Working with internal and external auditors
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Support the management accounts team
  • Support Finance projects when required
  • Ensure other ad hoc payments are processed

Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Experienced in the Accounts Payable function
  • Good understanding of travel/tourism industry is preferred

Skills:

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP (or other large enterprise wide accounting system) and Concur beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, committed, bright, numerate and enthusiastic
  • Team player with a good work ethic who thrives in a multi-tasking, deadline driven environment
  • Time management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams at the same time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Fluent in English, a second language would be beneficial

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years accounts payable experience
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable function is necessary
  • Preferably educated to A level or equivalent
