When you join our team, you will become involved in supporting or delivering some of the biggest and most complex machinery installation and relocation projects in the world. Our people are experts in a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, infrastructure, print, packaging, FMCG, metals and many more.

Main duties:

• Accurately translate all documents from Korean into English using established terminology and phraseology, consulting technical staff within the Company for final checking
• Proof-read carefully all proofs received
• Update accurately all document revisions received
• Transmit all finished work in the required format to the company
• Translate and distribute any other information as necessary
• Manage and organise all technical literature within the Company
• Keep accurate records of all literature updates as per QA requirements
• Distribute all new information within the Company in a timely manner

Management may, from time to time, require you to carry out tasks in addition to your normal duties, provided these tasks are both reasonable and within your capabilities

The nature of the role means we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is comfortable working alone or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

- Educated to GCSE A to C level standard or equivalent in 5 subjects (inc. English and Korean)

- Experience of translating Korean into English and English into Korean

- Fluency in both Korean and English languages (both orally and writing)

- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

- The ability to construct effective working relationships

- The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, internally and externally

- The ability to prioritise and organise work, including working to deadlines

- Good oral communication skills.

- The ability to explain complex processes in non-technical language.

- The ability to prioritise.

- The ability to work under pressure

- The ability to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the service

Desirable, but not essential skills:

A Further Education (FE) qualification in Korean

Member of Chartered Institute of Linguists

Experience of translating technical Korean into English

Being a native speaker in either English or Korean
