Position

A unique opportunity to work within a thriving and exciting department. BCHA learn have several projects; The Advisor role will be key in the providing quality one to one advice and guidance on training, education and work. The post will facilitate group sessions around employability, communication skills and budgeting for 15-24 year olds and those 25-60 across several projects.

We are recruiting for a for an initial fixed term contract until the end of March 2023.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • To case manage and develop personalised support plans to individuals on their pathway to financial health, training, employment and improved wellbeing
  • Provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to beneficiaries to secure sustained education, training or employment. Signposting and arrange external specialist interventions, where appropriate
  • Proactively support customers to engage and achieve, this could include accompanying, making appointments for, reminding and prompting where necessary
  • Maintain knowledge of current customised training opportunities, advice and guidance, CV preparation, and job preparation and personal development courses available to customers.

Requirements

Experience of providing high quality CV, job search, interview support and progressing people into employment

Experience of providing quality information, advice and guidance support, reducing barriers to employment and education

Building and developing meaningful partnerships and relationships with a variety of stakeholders including participants leading to outcomes

Working with people experiencing disadvantage, challenging life circumstances and complex barriers to progression including young people aged 15 -24

Sourcing new employment, work experience or volunteer opportunities and being aware of current local labour market trends.
