Company Description

BCHA are a diverse and growing specialist housing, learning and support provider based in the South West. We provide support to our customers who may be facing a range of issues such as homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse.

BCHA help people off the streets by providing temporary accommodation in Yeovil. Our hostel, ‘Pathways’ is single bed accommodation for both men and women who are experiencing some trauma in their lives.

Position

We need two people to join us in a role where you can genuinely make a real difference. Where you can add real value as part of a dedicated team of professionals who build positive, trusting and respectful relationships with our customers who are preparing to move forward to independent living.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

· be a good communicator and able to facilitate support for customers;

· be proactive and responsive to customer enquiries and resolving issues;

· work closely with the team and provide administration support;

· enable customers to resolve or improve their situation;

· effectively manage and maintain rent, arrears and voids processes;

· liaise effectively with colleagues, external agencies & service providers;

· carry out regular checks on the wellbeing, health & safety of customers;

· ensure we sustain health, safety & hygiene standards of the accommodation;

Requirements

  • have transferable skills from a housing or similar ‘supported’ environment;
  • have some experience of our client groups or willing to learn;
  • be empathic and non- judgemental;
  • be self-motivated, able to use your initiative and be a great team player;
  • be flexible, adaptable, calm and considered
  • have good communication, administrative and organisation skills
