Position

The team work with customers in vulnerable situations and complex customers who are either homeless, at risk of homelessness, or who are tenancy ready and require support with accommodation seeking; there is also an element of resettlement work involved. We additionally support with accessing health care, maximising income, budgeting, debt management and accessing other support services. The team work primarily within the local hospitals, B&B emergency accommodation provided by the local authority, and BCHA Move On accommodation.

To provide intensive personalised support and case management to people with multiple and complex needs using The Plymouth Alliance (TPA) principles.

It would be great if you have previous experience of working with homeless and or other socially excluded people and a good understanding of safeguarding issues. You will also have the energy and enthusiasm to provide positive support and trauma informed care to those who need our support. It is a role where you can really make a difference.

Requirements

A working knowledge of the issues affecting people with complex needs and the potential impact on people’s physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing

Experience (work related or lived experience) of homelessness

Able to demonstrate that you put customers at the heart of all you do

Understanding the physical health, and mental health issues of each customer

Demonstrate empathy to those without homes and the issues that arise from this

Able to demonstrate you are an effective team worker (and able to work effectively on your own, if required)

Able to make sound decisions

IT literate

A completer/finisher

A creative, flexible, compassionate, patient and sensitive approach to working with people who have experienced multiple disadvantages
