The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (also known as BBOWT) was formed in 1959 and has a vision of an environment rich in wildlife for everyone, valued by all. We aim to lead the way to nature’s recovery through innovative land management, and connect people with nature to improve their wellbeing. We work in partnership and through collaborative projects with local communities, businesses, land owners and local authorities. In the three counties BBOWT owns or manages over 80 nature reserves covering 2,500 hectares. We have more than 50,000 members, employ over 100 professional staff, and have active support from more than 1,350 volunteers. Each year around 12,000 schoolchildren visit our education centres. BBOWT has an annual turnover of over £6 million and receives income from membership subscriptions, grants and donations. BBOWT is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK, each is a corporate member of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts.

Position

BBOWT’s vital work is made possible by a dedicated employee and volunteer team. We recognise our volunteers contribute their time, skills and talents to the effective running of the Trust. As such we’re committed to supporting volunteers to realise their full potential whilst reaping the reward of restoring nature.

The People Team are looking for a Volunteering Administrator to support the wider BBOWT team in ensuring volunteers are supported, feel valued and are an integral part of BBOWT culture. This post will be the first point of contact in BBOWT for potential and current volunteers. Within this varied role they will undertake administration needed to effectively advertise volunteering opportunities, ensure data relating to volunteers is maintained accurately on relevant databases and help to maintain excellent communication with both current and potential volunteers.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, has a proven track record in administration, competent using Microsoft Excel with database experience and ideally has previous experience of working as or with volunteers.

Other information

Salary: £14,702 - £15,011 (pro rata) per annum dependent on experience (FTE £21,441 - £21,892)

Contract: Permanent, part-time - 24 hours per week

Based: The Lodge, Littlemore, Oxford with flexibility for some homeworking
