Mae Awen Trading Cyfyngedig yn is-gwmni masnachu Ymddiriedolaeth Ddiwylliannol Awen, elusen gofrestredig ym Mhen-y-bont ar Ogwr, De Cymru. Awen Cultural Trust is a registered charity based in Bridgend, South Wales. Our purpose

is to make people’s lives better, which we achieve by delivering inspirational cultural events, activities and programmes. Awen engages with over one million visitors a year through a diverse range of facilities and services which include theatres, libraries, community centres, historic house and country park, and two work-based projects for adults with learning and physical disabilities. Awen’s work has significant impact on local economies, individual wellbeing and community cohesion.


Awen Trading Limited

Awen Trading Limited is the wholly owned trading subsidiary of Awen Cultural Trust, a registered charity based in Bridgend, South Wales. Awen Trading Limited’s aim is to develop a group of socially responsible businesses that compete commercially, exceed customer expectations and generate healthy profits which, in turn, are gifted aided back to the parent charity. Currently, these businesses include the Caffi Bar at the Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl and Bryngarw House, an exclusive wedding venue based in the grounds of Bryngarw Country Park.

Position

What will you be doing?

To provide duty office cover and act as keyholder as required across Awen’s facilities ensuring excellent customer service and facilities management in accordance with relevant procedures and policies.

Also, to assist with delivery of customer services functions such as box office and front of house operations as directed by the Venues Management team.

To act as a Duty Officer on a rotational shift basis reacting effectively to any operational issues and recognising the needs and experience of the customer. To ensure an attentive, professional service at all times, handling customer queries and complaints effectively. To liaise with the technical team, as necessary.

• To ensure smooth running of events by assisting on box office, bar and kiosk functions as necessary and as directed by management across Awen’s portfolio of facilities.

• To assist with hire enquiries, including providing relevant information to clients; conducting showarounds; preparing the venue for events, including setting up chairs, tables and other equipment as required.

• To ensure a thorough understanding of all events in the diary and to be fully conversant with the particular details of each event under your supervision, including the food and beverage requirements.

• Whenever possible, to personally meet and greet performers, their agents, conference and event clients providing a point of contact for help and assistance throughout their time at the venue.

• On an event by event basis, to lead the Front of House/Bar team, providing team briefings, supervision, motivation and training as required.

• Supervise bars and kiosk activity including stocking, opening and closing procedures, cash handling and reconciliation, accurately recording waste, adherence to health and safety and hygiene regulations. Proactively maximising every opportunity to increase sales considering the nature and audiences of each event.

• To present all marketing material as per Awen standards and to monitor overall venue presentation, liaising with cleaning staff and maintenance teams ensuring corrective action is taken where necessary.

• Due to the nature of the venue and the varying diary of events, from time to time it may be necessary to provide assistance in other areas of operation, as and when the need arises.

• To be a keyholder with responsibility for opening and closing Awen’s facilities to set standards.

• To be a personal licence holder and be accountable for adherences to licensing legislation.
