ASL Aviation Holdings is a leading aviation services company based in Swords, Ireland, close to Dublin Airport. The ASL Aviation Holdings Group includes 5 wholly owned European airlines; ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France, ASL Airlines and ASL Airlines United Kingdom. The Global ASL fleet of 140 aircraft includes 17 aircraft types from the Boeing 747-400F to the ATR-72 turbo prob. The Group has confirmed 20 slots with Boeing for 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) aircraft. Delivery of these next-generation aircraft has started and will continue until 2023.

In 2020, despite the global disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, ASL’s airlines continued to operate with 80% global aircraft utilisation on average. The airlines operated more than 122,000 flight hours, carrying 810,000 tonnes of freight and 2,620,000 passengers.

Position

To support the implementation of the SMS program and accident prevention. Work in conjunction with designated officials from the Authorities under the guidance of the Safety Manager to ensure the safety of the ASLI Operation in accordance with applicable regulation, and company standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the collection, analysis and reporting of data, captured in the data base, gathered through mandatory and voluntary feedback.
  • Manage and analyse data from recorders and detect deviations in procedures. Prepare summary reports for the Safety Manager and launch appropriate procedures in collaboration with individual Departmental Manager on behalf of the Safety Manager.
  • Support the development and implementation of the risk awareness programme for all relevant personnel.
  • Participate in monthly meetings Safety/Training/Sector to review key findings (e.g. excessive deviations, notorious and repeated deviations from the procedures in force) and request additional information/explanation as appropriate.
  • Develop monthly Safety reports for Line Engineers or Crew and regulators.
  • Assist in the development of applicable Safety bulletins or notices.
  • Keep up to date with aviation safety and relevant developments in this field.
  • Maintain competence on the basis of continued education and training in their area of responsibility. The company will facilitate this process.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Aviation or Airworthiness Safety Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation/Safety related field (preferable)
  • Formal training in Safety Management Systems (SMS), Hazard & Risk Management, Aviation Human Factors, Accident & Incident Investigation, PART CAMO and Emergency Response Planning
  • Have or held and Airline Transport Pilot's licence (ATPL), or dispatcher licence, aircraft engineering licence, or equivalent skills/competencies

Experience:

  • Part 145, PART CAMO, and/or PART M
  • PN regulations
  • Air Transport Law
  • Knowledge of Aircraft
  • Quality of service targets
  • Good report writing skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
