Company Description

The Granite Care Consortium have successfully gained the commission for the delivery of Care at Home Services across the city of Aberdeen from November 2020. The Consortium are a recently formed group of local 3rd & private sector providers with decades of experience in delivering health & social care services. The Consortium was set up to create market stability, improve outcomes and build a consistent trained and skilled workforce.

Position

Job Title:                    Operations Director

Salary/Grade:           £50,000 - £60,000 Circa

Hours of Work:        37 hours per week

Responsible to:       Consortium Board

Location:                  City of Aberdeen

Holidays:                  30 days, plus 12 days public holiday pro rata

Contract length:     2+1+1 years subject to contract extension award

Secondments for a minimum of two years or longer will be considered, subject to organisational approval. Pension will be a Defined Contribution Scheme.

Requirements

Key Tasks

  • Lead and represent the Consortium on a day to day basis, leading on the Business strategy and development plan.
  • Play a key role in facilitating the development  of  the Consortium, in partnership with the AHSCP
  • Support the board & its executive team
  • Responsible for commissioning, oversight & monitoring of Care at Home services in the three localities across the City of Aberdeen.
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the consortium, ensuring that a positive culture is in place to support delivery plans, achieve/exceed   key results  and  implement development plans
  • Support the development and dissemination of learning from the consortium, to influence future policy and practice
  • Champion enablement, person-centred approaches  and outcomes-focused results  in all areas of work
  • Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation and reporting of activities
  • Responsible for setting budgets and financial monitoring/reporting, in line with the consortium requirements and resources
  • Ensuring that effective risk management is in place, for the consortium as a whole and at the individual level
  • Support the consortium partnership as required
  • Ensure that required policies and procedures are in place and followed
  • Represent the consortium at a strategic level with external stakeholders
  • Communicate with a range of stakeholders in an appropriate, constructive and sensitive way, including the public and the media
  • Stay aware of relevant national and international policy and practice
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the consortium Leadership team

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • A recognised, relevant, professional qualification at Degree level in a relevant subject.
  • Qualified to SVQ level 4 or experienced in the social care field or similar, for        example,  community development
  • Knowledge of health & social care interventions

  • Able to review service’s and create plans for continuous improvement.
  • Creativity and innovation – able to formulate new ideas, or use existing ideas  in a new or unexpected way – always looking at how to do things differently or  better
  • Excellent communication skills – able to convey and receive messages,  verbally and non-verbally and in written form, in a positive and effective way

 Experience

  • Substantial senior management experience, to effectively manage the serviceable to focus on critical priorities, work to effective timescales and make adjustments where needed.
  • Experience in managing the performance and development of staff and Sub Contractors.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making – experience of identifying, researching, analysing and resolving problems and making informed and effective decisions in order to deliver an excellent service
  • Experience of managing successful teams – understanding how people interact and relate and how this can impact on the dynamics and success of the teams they lead
  • Experience of setting, managing and monitoring multi-departmental budgets
  • Experience of strategic and operational planning
  • Experience of large scale, successful partnership working and stakeholder management
  • Experience of assessing, managing and addressing risk
