Position

Due to an exciting period of growth we are currently recruiting for Beauty Tutors/Assessors.

The role of Tutor/Assessor provides academic and pastoral support to learners to enable them to successfully complete their programme of study.

Tutor/Assessors follow appropriate schemes of work and lesson plans in order that all elements of the qualifications are successfully achieved.  Tutor/Assessors undertake individual tutorials, reviewing progress made against qualification criteria and planning actions and activities to fully support the achievement of the qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Make-Up Techniques
  • Assessing all learners work against criteria set by the Awarding Body
  • Planning and implementing of good to outstanding lessons
  • Delivering learner portfolios to agreed standards, utilising on online e-portfolio system if required
  • Ensuring all learner achievements are tracked and monitored effectively
  • Carry out interventions/reviews to support learner achievement

Quality Measures / Outputs:

  • KPI’s in relation to attendance, reviews and achievement
  • Learning walks, graded observations and learner focus groups
  • Maintaining documentation on learners’ progression

How outputs will be achieved:

  • Visiting learners in their work experience placement and ensuring the suitability of all placements
  • Delivering group training sessions
  • Delivering learner portfolios to agreed standards, utilising an online e-portfolio system
  • Working as part of a regional team
  • Support and respond sensitively and empathically to student disclosures

Safeguarding responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • To be familiar and act in accordance with Creative Sport & Leisure’s safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Ensure that Creative Sport & Leisure provides a safe, fair and respectful work and learning environment

 

Requirements

 

Education & Training:

QTS Status (essential)

Assessor qualification (essential)

Computer related qualifications (desirable)

Minimum of Level 2 or equivalent qualification(s) in English and maths (essential)

Minimum of level 2, but preferably a Level 3, qualification in the vocational area (essential)

IV qualification (desirable)

A willingness to engage in continuous professional development (essential)

Experience which demonstrates:

Understanding of the needs of young people (essential)

Knowledge of the qualification framework (desirable)

Experience of full Diploma delivery (desirable)

An ability to show initiative in developing and maintaining systems (desirable)

Presenting to groups of young people in an engaging and informative manner (essential)

An ability to provide accurate information (essential)

An ability to deal with people sensitively and confidentially within policies and procedures (essential)

Competent use of database systems to record, analyse data and provide reports (desirable)
